Irish food drawings – Day 2

Day 2
(12th March 2014)

Breakfast:

  • Italian coffee (yes, I have my italian coffee machine too! Or better, I have two, just in case one is not working anymore :P)
  • Muffin (the English one) —> in Italy we don’t know there are even these muffins I find here, I knew just only the sweet american muffins. If you, like me, didn’t know, read the difference here.

Dinner:

  • Gammon (Bistecca di prosciutto)
  • Sweetcorn (Mais)
  • Potato Wedges with chili

I had a wonderful dinner, cooked by Stevie; it was the first time I had gammon, it’s delicious! I added a bit of extra virgin oil on it and on the sweetcorn, as usual 😉

To order a true italian coffee abroad.

001

True Italian Espresso? Menù in italian? Ok, so we talk in italian! xD

As I said here and here, I have problems ordering coffee abroad. Even more when the menus are written in italian xD

Come ho già detto in due articoli precedenti, ho dei problemi ad ordinare il caffè all’estero. Ancora di più quando i menù sono scritti in italiano xD

Cinnamon swirls ♥

Buongiorno! I love cinnamon swirls ♥
They’re almost impossible to find in Italy, so I try to eat as much as I can here before going home 🙂

Coffee cream recipe

tumblr_inline_msgfwgbrtf1qz4rgp

It’s useless to say that the cooking here in Northern Ireland is completely different from the italian one: the first times I’ve been here every dinner was a pain, but now I learnt to enjoy it. Nonetheless I miss italian dishes and I cook them as much as I can (for Stevie’s happiness, also 😉 ). Some days ago I was very bored and so I tried to make something very easy and not too long, featuring my beloved espresso coffee.

Coffee cream (Crema al caffè)

Ingredients:
– flour: 2 spoons
– milk: 1/2 litre
– sugar: 3 spoons
– coffee: 3 espresso cups

1. Put inside a pan flour and sugar and mix them .

2. Pour the milk in the sugar and flour paying attention to create a uniform mixture.

3. Put the pot on low fire and stir. Add bit by bit the coffee and continue to stir until the mix in the pot boils.

4. Let it boil for a minute continuing to stir the cream.

5. Put the result in cups and enjoy it hot or let it cool down if you prefer to eat it as a pudding.

p.s. sorry in advance if there are any errors in my text, it’s the first recipe I translate 😉
